How do you control your thoughts from obsession? addiction? How do you stop getting on things that aren’t good for you? Why do we obsessively think of things that are so good to be true but in fact they don’t deserve our time and energy thinking. Like these chocolates that are so good but can be so bad and we'll regret it later. #obsessingwiththings I caught myself on obsession mode over a guy and things that I should not be putting time and energy. How did it happen?? As humans, when we don’t know our self worth we get attach so easily to the people and things that showing us just a little bit of attention and value.
When we are broken inside, when we lack self love, we have no boundaries, we have more self pity than self love, when we meet the first person who gives us a little bit of attention, we fall for it even though they are not good for us. It’s like walking inside the grocery store hungry and we grab instantly the first one that catches our eyes without even reading the labels and the expiry date. The chocolates are so good but we have to stop because it’s not healthy for us. Never mind, our brain says. We are only living in the present moment and think of the consequences later on. We ignore the signs that they are not good for us in the first place. Then the after effect comes, here’s the hormonal imbalance showing us pimple break outs, added pounds for overeating chocolates overnight. Same thing with the person we are constantly obsessing. We lost our self esteem. “Am I not good enough? Why does he keeps ignoring me?” So we do things to catch their attention. When we know we deserve better than that. When I came back to my reality, I learned that the person I’m pinning for was not a match for me as I thought he was. I wasted my energy on someone who is not worth of my time and attention. Because the right person will be so genuinely interested on my thoughts and feelings. They will never play the guessing game nor hide and seek. Then I met another man again, showing signs of “I can be good for you". You know what I did differently this time? I paused and looked at his actions. “I don’t know you so I’m just going to continue to do the things I love while I’m letting you take your own sweet time whether you are genuine with your intentions or not. It’s not my problem anymore. And I’m okay with it, knowing that I’m living my life. When we are obsessing with things like money, fame, relationships and success, we miss out the present moment. We can't enjoy the life that we have now because we are chasing a fantasy - the future that is not happening yet. We get exhausted and we no longer have the energy for the great possibilities. It might be passing by and we missed it.
