Does it makes you a bad person when you are gay? When your only fault is having too much XY chromosomes in your body and you have not hurt a single soul but people condemn you. It's the same story in the bible about a woman who bled for years and people stoned her for she was unclean as defined by them. It's a different story when you are gay and you committed crimes. I saw the movie of Donatella Versace and what struck me was the story of the serial killer, Andrew Cunanan. HURT people hurt people. The message that he was trying to say to the world is - accept me. At the age of 19, his religious mother found out that he was gay but the family never acknowledged it. And he became a prolific liar in order to fit in. Most religious argument is God only created a man and a woman, there's no gay and lesbians. We have to remember that we are bound by sin. We are all sinners, born with defects. It's not the perfect image that God wants us to be. As humans, we have to see each other beyond our image. Our childhood development up to adolescence phase are crucial on how we are showing to the world today as healthy adults. #healingtheinnerchild I've seen some cases before where men are trying to man up but they are confused with their identity. They are afraid to be judged by the environment they're in. Whether they grew up on a religious family, their friends see them living a perfect life, projecting a perfect image to the world. What causes the identity crisis? I have a friend who confirms to himself that he is a man, that he will never become gay. He always tell that to himself. He has never dated any single girl and always fascinated with drag queens and ask me questions like how to treat women, what to do on dates, etc. He grew up not having a father. The patriarchal system did not exist on his home. There's no fatherly image that he can look up to. No one taught him how to be man enough. Let's take a look at the case of Andrew Cunanan's household. What his father was like? What's the relationship with his mother like? How was his childhood days were like? He was a very bright boy. He could had a great future. A lack of NURTURING. A lack of LOVE within his home turn him into a self destructive human being. We are wearing a mask everyday according to what the society expect us to be but inside we are rotten, we need help. As humans, it's not easy to be vulnerable, to show pain and suffering to the world. It's not a normal scenario. How many of us get yelled and shouted at when we were kids for moving to slow or for not acting "normal"? Instead of asking us, "what's wrong, were you hurt? what are you feeling?". We all have childhood wounds, limiting beliefs that we adapted from our parents. These wounds that we neglected for so long since we were kids has ballooned into something we're feeling right now - anxiety, panic attacks, nervousness, insomnia, and more chemical reactions in our brain that lead us to become dysfunction. Start tapping your wounded child and set yourself free. One of our advocacy as part of Everyday Living Community is to educate the future parents of the generations today. Let's cut the negative patterns and limiting beliefs. Let's end it in our generation now.
We are giving more free resources if you want more inner child works or a free session to start with. Send us a message. Become our patron, get involved with what we do in the world to become better humans. Help us raise a community that heals. Are you in pain? Feeling isolated, empty? You are not alone.
