It's disturbing to me to read news about people getting depress, jumping out from the window, committing suicide because they can't take it to be isolated in the comfort of their homes. I know we have other issues such as millions of job loss and many people are starving. Mental health is also a serious problem. Do we keep ourselves in check everyday? What is good for us? What are the things that we can't tolerate? What should be our mindset in times of crisis? In our own little ways, we have to do our part to help each other at the same time, we have to take care of ourselves too.
What ticks me off in this situation is people are relying on social media like the source of everything. I get it. As humans, we want to be connected and there are some people who wants to get noticed, who wants to feel validated. But what is too much?? Humans are wired with routines. Since we started from our younger years, we have routines to wake up early to go to school, to get home, to do our homeworks and the process repeats until we get jobs, and the same process applies, only differences of how we create our everday lives as adults. HOW WE CREATE OUR EVERYDAY LIVES AS ADULTS??? What do you do by the time that you wake up? Do you check your phone right away?? Do you wake up early? Or you prefer to wake up past lunch time? Do you have list of to dos?? Or you wait for whatever the day will serve you? I'm sure you've heard lots of people - mentors, speakers, influencers that they set their day. They set their intentions for that day. They don't sit around and wait for things to happen - "whatever, let me get through this day attitude!" - NOPE. It doesn't exists on these peeps. They always want to seize the day. I'm so sick of hearing people complain that they are so bored at home. If you are doing something productive everyday, if you have intentions, if you know your goals and your purpose everyday, you will not complain that your life is boring. The common scenario is you get up in the morning, check your phone, spend time browsing on social media. Go back to sleep, depends if you're hungry, you don't want to cook so you opt for online delivery. You sit on the couch, browse Netflix, scroll your phone in between watching and eating. Checks people who are online, chat with them or call them. It's dinner time, you order pizza or chicken with soda, you start another movie. You reached for popcorn. You post what you ate, what you watched on your social accounts, you browse more people on your social feed, you chat, until you didn't notice it's past midnight. And now you can't sleep.. you continue scrolling, liking posts, chatting. The next day, it's the same. You missed breakfast and lunch again. Should I tell you what to do now? :) I'm trying to stay away from the internet as much as possible but I'm working from home and my job is in the internet. But for those people who has a different job, you know what will keep you sane. It's not only physical things that we need to declutter, those things that we absorb online too. Know your limitations and capabilities as humans. We will be surprised how mentally strong we are and we can surprass more than this.
